  • Lubricating rails and lead screws

How often do you find you need to lubricate the rails and lead screws on your Piranha to keep things moving smoothly? Are you using the Dupont Silicone with Teflon that NWA recommends or something different? I tried using Slipit, as it is silicone free and won't cause finishing problems with wood if you drip on a work piece but ran into problems with squeal and binding during operation.

    Thanks

I use the Dupont Silicone with Teflon but I use the squeeze bottle to eliminate over spray. Also lubricate before you clamp a project on the table to eliminate problems with drips.

Thanks meb. I have had problems with my original cnc shark where the constant up/down motion when cutting an inlay with a very small diameter end mill would require lubrication part way through a project. Getting the squeeze bottle is a good idea.
