Just did my first log carve. I've been teaching myself CNCing for about the past 18 months. I think the log carve was about the funnest project to date. I got really lucky with wood that was amazingly interesting. Carved it for some friends; they planted the tree on their property 30+ years ago, and she's a gnome fanatic. Log was about 9 inches in diameter. I used a few Design And Make models.
